Any rx fisherman here ? , if so what do you fish for .... what do yo go after ?

I've been getting back into fishing more , in Illinois ( my home state ) I prefer targeting / going after BLUEGILLS & when I'm on the iowa side to do some fishing I head to northeast iowa for a few days to fish for iowa trout ( BROOKIES , BROWNIES & RAINBOWS ) w-thumbs!^

As far as catching them, Crappie fishing has been outstanding the last few weeks, however the majority are under 9 inches so I throw them back.

Easily caught over 100 today in 4 hours fishing but only 11 were 10 inches (minimum size I keep) or longer.

Hopefully the bigger ones move in as last year was a disaster due to the flood.

I also like to crappie fish especially in early spring when they are running. A friend in Louisiana invited me to fish at his place on the north side of Toledo Bend reservoir. He claims that they pull 5lb crappie out of there. I have never seen one near that big.

Favorite fish to catch along with Crappie...

The smallies are fun to catch here at Lake Jocassee, along with trout, but the trout are deep. Check it out, you'd love this lake...


Asking the girl for a guided float trip on the river for smallies for Christmas, if she doesn't provide, I'm gonna snag one anyways...lol

bream when bedding

I love catching shellcrackers and bluegill when they're on. I've been catching a few with a fly rod and old school poppers here lately on my small pond, but nothing of size. I stocked it last year with a few red breast, so hopefully by next year, they'll be on a poppin', but I'm considering moving before then, so I might have to draw up some fishing rights in the contract...lol

Love it..Surf fishing, river bank and trolling the bays around here is the best...I pump for the bait most of the time during low tides ... sand shrimp.
Red tail, rock fish, Ling cod and salmon are my main targets...Weirdly, I caught a nice Dungeness crab while surf fishing a few weeks ago... took my bait then wrapped his claw in my line....Big dude.

I fish tons and the fishing here is endless.

My fishing gear is stuck in my shed. I take it out a couple of times to fish off the shore. But in my hey day I had a bass boat and fish alot. Actually fish in 2 bass tournaments in Ontario. Best result was 44 out of 90 boats.

So I tend to fish for Largemouth, Smallies, Walleye and Muskies.
